UX Design Lead Full Time

A leading South African e-commerce retailer is seeking a highly skilled UX Design Lead to drive user experience strategy across its digital platforms. This role is ideal for a design-focused professional who combines creativity, technical skill, and data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for guiding UX design direction, evolving the design system, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and intuitive user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead UX and UI design for web and mobile platforms, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
• Oversee design experimentation, including A/B testing and data analysis, to support continuous UX improvement.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to drive successful implementation of designs.
• Maintain and enhance the design system to support scalable, consistent design practices.
• Use Excel and other analytical tools to interpret data and measure the success of design decisions.
• Stay informed on UX/UI trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• A minimum 3-year tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Design, Visual Communication, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating both web and mobile UX work.
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Working knowledge of Excel for analysing design experiment data.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
• High attention to detail with the ability to deliver polished, pixel-perfect design outputs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with awareness of balancing user needs and business objectives.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of UX principles and user-centred design methodologies.
• Experience conducting usability tests and user research.
• Familiarity with component-based design and design systems.
